Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for making a continuous web for a foldable packaging made of a sheet-type material, wherein said web is made from two overlapping sheet portions which are connected together in the overlapping region. This method is characterised in that the two sheet portions are made from a single sheet which travels in the transport direction and is cut longitudinally. At least one sheet portion extends from the plane of the transport direction by pivoting about a first folding axis, wherein said folding axis defines a predetermined angle relative to the transport direction that does not exceed 90 DEG . After travelling over a given deviation distance, the sheet portion returns into the plane of the transport direction by pivoting about a second folding axis which is parallel to the first one so that the longitudinal and overlapping edge areas form the overlapping region. The two longitudinal and overlapping edge areas are further connected together.
