Abstract

Positive and negative ions are generated by rod (39) and passed to workpiece surface. Dust particles (43) are detached from the surface by brush (17) in chamber (5) and are exhausted into suction channel (7). Positive pressure is produced by air stream (23) from at least one nozzle (21) directed into brush chamber in forward position. Second rod (27) produces positive and negative ions, which are passed on to the cleaned workpiece surface and at least part of the brush. A claim is also made for an appliance to carry out the method.
