Abstract

The invention concerns a revolving door suitable for use in escape routes. The door wings (3, 4) are fixed by means of a locking mechanism (7) between two turnstiles (2) which are not connected to a central pillar. The turnstiles (2) are mounted for rotation and thus permit normal operation of the door powered either by a motor or by hand. If the force exerted on the door wings (3, 4) exceeds the normal force, the locking mechanism (7) is retracted and the door wings (3, 4) can be pushed to the side. The force necessary for retraction of the locking mechanism is adjustable.
