Abstract

The ink cartridge comprises a housing (26) which is closed on all sides and has a front wall (28) which has an aperture (30) for receiving a tubular nozzle of the print head. The housing (26) contains a foam body (34) soaked in ink. It has engagement elements for engaging in engagement means of the print head and a second, smaller aperture for the air supply. A pumping member (42) can be installed in the housing (26) in order to facilitate start-up of the cartridge. <IMAGE>
