Abstract

The wash basin (1) according to the invention, which is fixed to a mounting wall (3) by means of two fixing screws (5), has at least one towel holder (6) which extends downwards from the fixing screw (5), then outwards under the side wall (10) of the wash basin (1) and subsequently upwards again and then forwards in the horizontal direction away from the mounting wall (3). The towel holder (6) consists of a fixing part (7), screwed to the fixing screw (5), and a holding arm (8), connected detachably to said fixing part. Between the rear wall (2) and the fixing part (7) there is arranged, in addition, a plastic liner (9) which is constructed in the form of a strap to receive the fixing part (7). Said strap has the purpose of preventing damage to the rear wall (2) in the region of the fixing point. Furthermore, the rear wall (2) is provided, on the side serving to fix the towel holder (6), with a recess (11) into which in each case at least one part of the plastic liner (9) and the fixing part (7) come to rest, so that the pivoting of strap and towel holder (6) and a loosening of the fixing screw (5) brought about thereby are prevented. <IMAGE>
