Abstract

An ice-maker has a freezing roller which is immersed in a freezing liquid tank (2) and in each case at least one valve-controlled liquid supply and drain, the tank (2) being fillable with liquid to be frozen when the ice-maker is brought into operation and emptiable on stopping of the ice-maker. According to the invention, there is provided on the tank (2) a cleaning device (50) for rinsing the tank (2) and/or the freezing roller (9) and the drain (6) of the tank is adapted to the operating time of the cleaning device (50) (Fig. 3). According to a method for ice-making, a cleaning process for the parts (interior of tank 2; freezing roller 9 or the like) coming into contact with the liquid (35) to be frozen can be included temporally directly before ice-making, and possibly a cleaning agent can be used for cleaning the abovementioned regions of the ice-maker (1, 1a), which agent differs from the liquid to be frozen, possibly with subsequent inclusion of a rinsing interval using liquid to be frozen. <IMAGE>
