Abstract

A hammer mill (1) with a cup-shaped screen (10) comprises a screen removal and tensioning device which consists of two holders (13), a connecting linkage (15, 17) and a common drive device (20-22). The screen (10) lies on a grate (11, 12). In the raised state, it surrounds the rotor (8) and in the lowered state it can be pulled out of the hammer mill through the opening (4a) with a small degree of effort. The operational safety is ensured by securing devices for the milling chamber door (4b) and the screen tensioning device (11-22).
