Abstract

The screw cap (1) is provided with a tamper-evident band (3) which is subdivided into two sections. A circumferential section (9) is connected firmly to the lower cap-edge while a complementary section (10) is designed to be tear-off and is connected to the lower cap-edge only via tear-off tabs (12). At one end of the fixed circumferential section (9) a predetermined breaking point (11) with an elastic slotted element is arranged on the tamper-evident band (3). <IMAGE>
