Den Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung bildet eine Verbesserung der bekannten Vorrichtungen zum Anfeuchten gummirter Flächen mittelst einer im Wasser hängenden drehbaren Walze. Die bis jetzt vorhandenen Anfeuchter dieser Art haben den Nachtheil, dafs die anzufeuchtenden Gegenstände, wie Briefmarken, Zettel u. s. w., unmittelbar auf die Walze aufgebracht werden müssen und sich dort so festhängen, dafs sie nur umständlich wieder abzuheben sind; auch verschmutzen die Walzen nach kurzer Zeit durch den sich anhängenden Klebstoff.The subject of the present invention is an improvement of the known devices for moistening rubberized surfaces by means of a rotating roller hanging in the water. The humidifiers available up to now of this kind have the disadvantage that the objects to be moistened, such as postage stamps, Notes, etc., must be applied directly to the roller and get stuck there, that they can only be lifted off again with difficulty; the rollers also get dirty after a short time due to the attached adhesive.

Zur Hebung dieser Uebelstände ist auf dem Wasserbehälter a (s. beifolgende Zeichnung) ein Deckel b angeordnet, welcher die Walze c so weit umgiebt, dafs nur ein kleiner Theil derselben frei liegt. Der Deckel b hat eine dachförmige Gestalt, indem seine Flächen b^l b² b³ b^l nach der Walze zu ansteigen. Um den Anfeuchter benutzen zu können, mufs man die anzufeuchtende Marke u. s. w. m auf eine der beiden schiefen Ebenen b¹ b², welche in der Längsrichtung der Walze c liegen, auflegen und nach letzterer zu vorschieben. Dabei wird sich die Walze c, deren Achse aus einem federnden Draht d besteht, so weit nach der anderen Seite verschieben, dafs sie sich fest gegen jenen Dachtheil andrückt. Die über die drehende Walze c geführte Marke u. s. w. wird hier angefeuchtet und durch den anderen Dach-■theil abgestreift, worauf man sie auf diesem weiter schiebt, bis man sie anderseitig erfassen kann. Wären diese schiefen Ebenen in Verj bindung mit der verschiebbaren Walze nicht angeordnet und man wollte die Marke u. s. w. unmittelbar auf die Walze auflegen, so würde ! sie beim Drehen derselben im Kasten verschwinden, indem sie sich mit ihrer ganzen ! Fläche auf der Walze anhängen würde.
^; Um den beschriebenen A^orsang zu unter- ^: stützen und eine gleichmäfsige Feuchthaltung der Walzen zu erzielen, sind unter dem dachartigen Deckel b entlang der Walze c Streifen e e ι aus aufsaugendem Stoff angebracht, welche bis auf den Boden des Kastens niederhängen. Beim ; Verschieben der Walze nach der einen oder anderen Seite wird der Stoff zwischen dieser und dem scharfen Deckelrand eingeprefst und besorgt an Stelle des letzteren das Abstreifen der Marke u. s. w. von der Walze.
