Verfahren zur Nacharbeitung von Formkörpern aus gesinterten Carbidlegierungen Bei Carbidlegierungen, die durch Sinterung eines oder mehrerer Carbide der hoch schmelzenden Metalle unter Zusatz eines oder mehrerer niedriger schmelzender Hilfsmetalle hergestellt sind, ist wegen ihrer großen Härte eine formändernde Bearbeitung nach dem Sintern im allgemeinen nur durch zeitraubendes und schwieriges Schleifen möglich. Zu diesem Zwecke wird erfindungsgemäß der fertiggesinterte Formkörper einem Strom eines chemisch angreifenden Gases, zweckmäßig eines heißen oxydierenden Gases, wie z. B. auf etwa 8oo° C erhitzter atmosphärischer Luft, ausgesetzt oder auch der Formkörper in Luft auf mehr als 75o° C erhitzt. Durch diese Behandlung des fertiggesinterten, aus den angegebenen Carbidlegierungen bestehenden Formkörpers wird seine Oberflächenschicht oxydiert und, wie sich überraschenderweise gezeigt hat, vollständig aufgelockert, so daß alsdann anschließend die Oberflächenschicht mit ganz einfachen mechanischen Mitteln, wie einem Spatel oder einer Drahtbürste, fortgenommen werden kann. Die darunterliegende Schicht des fertiggesinterten Formkörpers bleibt dabei vollständig unangegriffen und kann, wenn erforderlich, auf die bisher übliche Weise, nämlich durch Schleifen, nachgeglättet werden. Je nach der Tiefe der abzutragenden Schicht werden die Temperatur und die Geschwindigkeit des Luft- oder Gasstromes bzw. die Temperatur des Formstückes sowie auch die Zeitdauer des Angriffs verändert; auch kann dem etwa verwendeten Luftstrom zwecks feinerer Dosierung noch Sauerstoff oder Stickstoff zugefügt werden. Die Oberflächenoxydation und Abtragung kann gegebenenfalls mehrmals wiederholt werden, falls infolge der besonderen Form des Werkstückes die Abtragung in einem Arbeitsgang sich als unzweckmäßig erweist.
