Description

Process for pleating fabrics that have been pretreated with finishing agents The fabrics pleated by hot pressing lose when they are exposed to humidity only to a small extent are exposed to the sharpness of the pleats and atone the pleated blind completely if it gets wet directly. That behavior changes, too not if the fabric is strengthened before pleating, as suggested earlier or is finished.

The invention provides a method of making pleated fabrics of all kinds to be treated in such a way that the wrinkles formed are so insensitive and permanent that they are neither in a humid atmosphere nor in contact with drip water disappear.

According to the invention, the object is achieved in that, as fixing agents for the pleats, finishing compounds are used which, in aqueous dispersion, contain water-insoluble substances such as resins, oils and the like in addition to the dispersant, so that the pleats of the finishing compounds are diluted with such finishing compounds soaked fabrics become insensitive to humidity and dripping water. Particularly suitable for these purposes are preferably: Wool finishes of all kinds, in particular those which, in aqueous dispersion, in addition to the dispersants such as starch, protein, dextrin, glue, larger or smaller additions of fats, waxes, oils io. like. included. During hot pleating, the aqueous dispersant is dried at a treatment temperature of about 1000 and the finish residue is introduced into the fabric in such a way that it becomes insensitive to atmospheric moisture and dripping water.
