Bei bekanntem Schuhwerk dieser Art sind die Auf- oder Einlagen auf dem Material des Schuhwerks, z. B. Beim Anziehen eines Schuhes und bei Betätigung des Verschlusses, etwa beim Schnüren, sowie bei dem sehr starken, durch das Zwicken bei der Fabrikation entstehenden Zug, erfährt nun das Schuhmaterial starke Formänderungen und Dehnungen, die sich besonders bei dem an die,Verschlußteile anstoßenden Teile des Einsatzes durch Entstehen eines Spaltes zwischen den stumpf aneinanderliegendenTeilen bemerkbar machen. In diesen Spalt kann sich nun beim Reinigen und namentlich beim Putzen des Schuhes Schmutz, Putznasse o. dgl. einsetzen, die, wenn der Schuhverschluß wieder geöffnet wird, herausquillt und beim Reinigen usw. über den gewöhnlich aus hellen oder empfindlichen Stoffen hergestellten Einsatz verrieben wird und diesen unansehnlich und den Schuh unverwendbar machen kann. Die den abnehmbaren Einsatz haltende Naht liegt auch vollkommen frei und ist daher nicht nur Witterungseinflüssen, sondern auch mechanischen Beanspruchungen, etwa durch Reibung beim Reinigen, beim Aufeinanderlegen der Füße, ausgesetzt.
