Description
Indirectly heated hot cathode for Braun tubes for measuring or television purposes The subject of the invention is an indirectly heated hot cathode for Braun tubes, as they are for known measurement purposes as well as for image decomposition or image composition serve while watching television. The invention enables particularly strong electron currents to produce, which is already well bundled from the cathode and not, as before, as a result large emission surface emerge scattered. Obtaining an intense, bright Luminescence emitting cathode ray of small cross-section with sharp, on The light spot generated on the luminescent screen is thereby facilitated. Furthermore, the service life the cathode is significantly increased by this arrangement. The figure shows an exemplary embodiment on a greatly enlarged scale.
Geringe Gasmengen in der Röhre können die im Innern der Hohlkathode entstehende Raumladung kompensieren.i is a ceramic material, e.g. B. pure magnesia Hollow body, inside which the heating coil a is housed. This is used by means of Conduction and radiation for heating the emissive cathode layer 3, which located on the cylindrical inside of the body described. It deals So it is an indirectly heated hollow cathode, in which the electrons come from one Pass a channel with a small cross-section into the discharge space. Layer 3 is on the surface of a metallic carrier .4 arranged with the actual Cathode lead 5 is connected. To apply the layer (oxides or equivalent Means) are known methods. The ceramic mass of the cathode body must be the working temperature must be highly insulating. One on top of the exit side Orifice 6 can be used in a manner known per se for: the restriction of the electron beam still to be improved; at the same time this aperture can be given a sufficiently high positive Potential opposite ¢ act as a suction anode. But it can just as well perform the function .exercise a control electrode; in this case there is also a special anode Acceleration of the electrons for the passage to the deflection space of the Braunsehen tube to be provided. Small amounts of gas in the tube can cause the inside of the hollow cathode Compensate the resulting space charge.
