Vortheile durch die Siemens'sehe Regenerativ-Gasfeuerung hingegen nicht erreicht worden, wofür der Grund ausschliefslich in dem Umstände zu suchen ist, dafs auf freie Flammenentfaltung dabei gemäfs den älteren Anschauungen der Feuerungstechniker gar keine Rücksicht genommen worden war; man Wählte eben die Lage der Rohre genau wieder so, wie bei den alten Oefen dieser Art, während • bei den schlesischen Muffelöfen die Verhältnisse für die Entwickelung und Bahn der Heizfiamme von Haus aus erheblich günstiger lagen. Auch bei dem belgischen Zinkofen wird der an einer grofsen Anzahl nach dem Friedrich Siemens' sehen Heizverfahren mit freier Flammenentfaltung, construirten Retorten- und Tiegelöfen gemachten praktischen Erfahrung nach die Anwendung freier Flammenentfaltung eine erhöhte Ausnutzung des Brennstoffes und längere Haltbarkeit der Rohre bei erhöhtem Ausbringen zur Folge haben —■,. eine Wirkung, welche durch die bei vollkommener Verbrennung im freien Raum zu erzielenden höheren Temperatur der Heizflamme und gröfseren Schonung der Destillirrohre, weil nicht der zerstörenden Wirkung der activen Flamme ausgesetzt, erzielt und eine vermehrte Uebertragung der Wärme durch Strahlung bewirkt wird.Siemens' see regenerative gas firing, Applied to so-called Silesian zinc distillation furnaces - distillation in muffles - has one considerable fuel savings and a number of other operational advantages over the direct one Solid fuel firing resulted in the extensive introduction this way of firing in the Silesian zinc industry long ago Years.
