Description
Production of sodium sulfite or bisulfite solutions from alkaline waste liquors Na sulfite and bisulfite are used in practice because they are too expensive, mostly due to the corresponding Replaced lime salts, which are much cheaper to manufacture. Now in the leaching of the mercerization process (artificial silk manufacture) an extremely cheap one Starting product that, as a result of its impurities, which consist of carbohydrate-like Cellulose degradation products exist, mostly only from the factories concerned can be rejected with difficulty or fed to the waste water. Even the caustic soda used to refine cellulose are suitable. To get out of these To obtain alkalis sulfite solutions or bisulfite solutions, according to the invention proceeded in such a way that sulphurous acid is introduced into such alkaline lyes. The organic substance precipitates and a clear solution of Sodium sulphite or a clear solution if sulphurous acid is introduced for a longer period of time of bisulfite. The organic substance that precipitates can be further used (Fermentation, feed, glue, etc.). It is probably not on No attempts have been made to utilize the alkaline products identified in the foregoing Leaching from the mercerizing or pulp refining process by other means perform, e.g. B. by oxidation of the organic components using of catalysts, but these processes have not proven to be very effective in practice. A utilization of this waste liquor for the production of sodium sulfite and sodium bisulfite solutions with simultaneous precipitation of the organic constituents was not previously known.
