Abstract

Shown and described is a method for the positional monitoring of a coke discharging device of a coke discharging machine (1), which has a pressure rod (3) and a pressure head (4) and is disposed in front of an opened coke oven chamber (6) of a coke oven (2) that is to be discharged, and possibly for the positioning of the pressure rod (4) in front of the coke oven chamber (6), wherein the thermal and/or infrared radiation emanating from an edge region of the pressure head (4) and from an edge region of a door frame (7) of the coke oven chamber (6) that is adjacent to the edge region of the pressure head (4) and also the thermal or infrared radiation possibly emanating from an internal region of the coke oven chamber (6) are detected, wherein the width (b1, b2) of at least one edge spacing between an edge of the pressure head (4) and an edge of a door frame (7) is determined on the basis of the detected radiation and wherein, preferably, at least one item of control information for a positioning device of the coke discharging machine (1) and/or a warning message is automatically generated on the basis of the determined width (b1, b2) of the edge spacing. According to the invention, it is provided that a skewed or inclined position of the pressure head (4) in relation to the door frame (7) and/or a lowering of the pressure head (4) in relation to the door frame (7) is determined on the basis of the determined width (b1, b2).
