Abstract

The tunnel structure is formed by driving the steel sheet pilings (1) into the ground, and excavating the earth between them. The base is of a fireproof concrete, and the roof is of concrete covered by the topsoil. Fireproof concrete pillars (5) are in front of or at the steel sheet pilings, using reinforced concrete, as redundant and/or additional fireproof roof supports. The steel sheet pilings have a corrugated structure, with alternating vertical peaks and valleys, to take the supporting pillars within their valleys at the inner sides of the pilings.
