Abstract
The track system (1) carries a number of moving wagons which are fitted with code readers and control computers (29). Position markers (20) are fitted to the bottom of the rail, adjacent to code transponders (21). These are read by transmitter-receivers (32) on the wagons. There is a position marker sensor (33) adjacent to each transmitter-receiver. Each wagon has sliding contacts (30,31) which draw current from a power rail (13) and a CAN (Controller Area Network) bus (14). Each wagon has a drive motor (8) and a distance sensor (17). There is a central control (24) for the power supply with a switch mechanism (27,28) and a central computer control (25,26).
