Abstract

The system determines the travelling time of vehicles on the defined stretch of the road by subtracting the joining time from the leaving time for the particular stretch of the road using the roadside receivers. The time is averaged using several measurements for different vehicles. Each vehicle (1) carries a transponder card (2). Opposite the control points (K(n-1); K(n)) on the side of the road there a provided devices (3), e.g. induction loops, for activating the transponders in the passing vehicles and further devices (4) for receiving and evaluating the data received from the cards, e.g. TAG-ID signals.
