Die hierdurch bezweckte Abkühlung der Batterie wird in noch höherem Maße erreicht durch die Anordnung nach vorliegender Erfindung. Nach derselben werden die erwähnten prismatischein Körper durch den Boden des Batteriebehälters hindurchgeführt, um so der Außenluft direkten Zutritt zu dem Innern der Batterie zu gestatten. Damit diese Außenluft nicht nur in den freien Raum über den Elementen, sondern auch in deren Zwischenräume strömen kann, werden die prismatischen Körper zweckmäßig an ihrem unteren Teil mit Öffnungen versehen, die nur so weit über dem Boden des Batteriebehälters liegen müssen, daß der evtl. auf den Boden des Behälters übergeflossene Elektrolyt nicht aus diesen Öffnungen fließt. Bei Gebrauch der Batterie in explosionsgefährlichen Räumen werden diese öffnungen oder der ganze Boden des prismatischen Hohlkörpers in an sich bekannter Weise mit Schlagwetterschutz versehen, wie selbstverständlich auch seitliche Öffnungen des Batteriebehälters und Öffnungen im Deckel, die zur Luftzirkulation vorgesehen sind.The arrangement protected by the patent 467 419 electrical.
