Description
Bei Seekabeln für Fernsprechzwecke, in die Pupinspulen eingebaut sind, müssen sowohl die Muffen als auch die Kabel, die durch die Muffe miteinander verbunden sind, mit Bewehrungsdrähten versehen sein. Den Bewehrungsdrähten fällt außer dem Schutz., den sie dem Kabel gegen äußere Verletzungen bieten, noch die Aufgabe zu, die bei der Verlegung oder bei Reparaturen des Kabels auftretende, entsprechend der Wassertiefe mehr oder weniger große Zugbeanspruchung aufzunehmen. Im allgemeinen läßt man hierbei die zwischen die einzelnen Kabellängen eingebauten Spulenmuffen mit dem Kabel durch die Bewehrungsmaschine laufen und legt so die Bewehrungsdrähte ununterbrochen unter Zug von einer Kabellänge über die Spulenmuffe hinweg zur nächsten Kabellänge auf. In· gewissen Fällen läßt sich jedoch eine durchlaufende Bewehrung am Kabel und an der Spulenmuffe nicht ausführen, z. B, wenn es sich um Längen oder Gewichte handelt, die mit einem Eisenbahnzug oder einer Dampferladung nicht zu transportieren sind, oder bei Reparaturen, bei denen Spulenmuffen herausgeschnitten und dafür neue eingebaut werden müssen. In solchen Fällen müssen die Bewehrungsdrähte in der Fabrik bzw. an der. Reparaturstelle auf See miteinander verspleißt werden. Dies geschieht im allgemeinen so, daß 'eine bereits mit Bewehrung versehene Spulenmuffe beiderseits mit einem Anschlußkabelstück versehen wird, deren Bewährungsdrähte um die Spleißlänge über die Anschlußkabel hinwegragen.
