Zur Abdichtung des sich drehenden Teiles gegen sein feststehendes Gehäuse verwendete man bisher zwei aufeinander schleifende und kraftschlüssig gegeneinandergepreßte Dichtungsflächen, von denen die eine mit dem sich drehenden, die andere mit dem feststehenden Gehäuse verbunden ist. Die Erfindung besteht nun darin, daß die aufeinander schleifenden Dichtungsflächen die Form von gleichachsig zur Drehtrommel liegenden Kegelflächen erhalten. Zu diesem Zweck können z. B. die Drehtrommel umgebende, achsial zu dieser und nebeneinanderliegende Ringe verwendet werden, die an den einander zugekehrten Seitenflächen kegelförmig abgeschrägt sind, von denen der achsial verschiebbare Ring unter der Wirkung eines Druck- bzw. Zugmittels steht, das ihn gegen den anderen Ring andrückt. Die Dichtung gemäß der Erfindung ist einfach in ihrer Bauart und daher betriebssicher.
