Abstract
Sterilisation of surgical instruments, uses hot air at high pressure in a closed system, ambient air is drawn by suction into the high pressure air tank (D) and the air temp. in the sterilising tank (B) is raised by electrical or gas heating. The air in the air tank (D) is allowed to expand into the sterilising tank (B), and the heater raises the temp. to min. 200 deg C. When the air is sucked rapidly from one tank (B) to the other (D), the temp. in the first tank (B) changes abruptly from 300 deg C to 5-10 deg C, in a temp. change action which kills bacteria and viruses. The air in the pressure tank (D) can be used repeatedly in the closed system.

Claims (1)
