Der Vorgang bei dem selbstthätigen Verkauf ist folgender:The process of self-selling is as follows:

Das Geldstück wird in die Leitung oder Rinne L eingeworfen; der Hebel M mit einer federnden Klaue M¹, Fig. 4, wird dadurch niedergedrückt und gleichzeitig das Gewicht N am entgegengesetzten Ende des Hebels M gehoben'. Die Stange, an welcher das Gewicht N befestigt ist, hebt durch diese Bewegung die Klinke K aus dem Sperrrade R. Letzteres ist auf der gleichen Welle mit der Trommel B, welche mit der darunter befindlichen B¹ durch zwei Bänder ohne Ende A verbunden ist. Beide Trommeln sind mit Stiften b b . . . b¹ b^l versehen, welche in entsprechende Lochungen der endlosen Bänder A passen. Die Welle der Trommel B¹ trägt das Zahnrad S, welches in dasjenige T eingreift. Letzteres ist auf der Welle U befestigt, die mit vierkantigem Ansatz zur Aufnahme des Schlüssels versehen ist. In dem Gehäuse C ist eine Feder angebracht, welche an dem freien Spiel durch die Sperrklinke K infolge Uebertragung mittelst der Trommeln BB¹ des endlosen Bandes der Zahnräder S T gehindert wird. Durch Aufwerfen des Geldstückes auf den Hebel M findet mithin die Lösung und damit die Bewegung der Bänder A in der in Fig. 3 angegebenen Pfeilrichtung statt. An den Bändern sind Schaufeln α derart befestigt, dafs sie in dem Behälter G befindliche Gegenstände aufnehmen. Die Entfernungen der Schaufeln α auf dem Bande A sind derjenigen der Stifte b b bezw. b^l b\ Fig. 2, entsprechend bemessen und das Sperrrad R mit einer ebenso grofsen Anzahl Zähne versehen, als die Trommel Stifte trägt. Bei jeder Drehung des Sperrrades R um einen Zahn wird mithin das Band A um die Entfernung zweier Schaufeln unter einander bewegt. Die von den Schaufeln α aus dem Behälter G entnommenen Waaren werden auf die Rinne W abgegeben, von wo sie der Käufer entnimmt. Um zu verhüten, dafs bei Einzahlung je eines Geldstückes mehr als je ein Stück Waare abgeliefert wird, ist mit der Trommel ein Kreuz mit einer gleichen Anzahl Arme, als Stifte b b auf derselben sind, verbunden. Diese Arme D drücken auf die federnde Klaue M\ so dafs das Geldstück in die Rinne P fällt, die es nach dem Geldkasten Q hinabgleiten läfst.
