Abstract

The numerical codes to be used in international subscriber dialling are stored in a table from whence the appts. can retrieve the code corresp. to the name of a country to which the subscriber wishes to make a call. As an alternative to the country name, a generally accepted abbreviation (e.g. GB) can be entered by the user and recognised by the appts. the list of country names or, e.g. ICIREPAT codes are displayed for the user's benefit.
