Immediately after the extrusion process, when the profile 2 still has an elevated temperature of approximately 150 to 200 degrees Celsius, a sprayable aqueous solution of methyl cellulose is injected with the aid of a suitable spray nozzle 60 protruding into the U-shaped profile section. This can be done, for example, with the aid of a robot-guided spray head which is guided along the edge of the pane in the same way as the extrusion head. If necessary, the extrusion head itself can also be completed by such a spray nozzle, so that both the extrusion of the profile and the coating with the moisture-storing coating can be carried out with one and the same tool head.

Da das Profil unmittelbar nach der Extrusion noch eine verhältnismäßig hohe Temperatur aufweist, trocknet der aufgesprühte Film verhältnismäßig schnell. Die getrocknete Methylcellulose nimmt jedoch nach ihrer Abkühlung wieder Feuchtigkeit aus der Umgebungsluft auf. Diese in der Schicht aus Methylcellulose gespeicherte Feuchtigkeit reicht aus, um nach dem Einbringen des feuchtigkeitshärtenden Montageklebers in den Profilabschnitt für eine rasche Aushärtung der Klebermasse zu sorgen.In the illustrated embodiment, air is blown into the tube 61 feeding the nozzle 60 .
