Man hat zu diesem Zwecke bereits Hohlsteine in Anwendung genommen, jedoch dabei den Nachteil in Kauf nehmen müssen, daß die Hohlsteine an ihren Verbandsstellen für die Wärme übergangsschädliche Wandverdickungen und Fugen erzeugen, die im Laufe des Betriebes einen unmittelbaren Übertritt der Gase in die Nachbarkanäle ermöglichen.Coke oven heating wall made of hollow bricks.
