Claims

1. Rectangular blanket for attachment to the rear seat area of a motor vehicle, which covers the rear seat, the rear seat back, the footwell and the rear sides of the front seat backrests in width and height, and fastening devices for fastening them both in the area of the rear seat backrest and in the area of the rear sides of the front seat backrests on a fixed part of the passenger compartment, characterized by the following features:

a) the blanket ( 1 ) is provided near the edges ( 11 , 12 ; 13 , 14 ) of both longitudinal ( 15 , 16 ) and broad sides ( 17 , 18 ) with eyelets ( 19 , 20 ),
b) the fastening means (9) of the front seat back (7) in the region of the rear sides (6) of a total of two which can be placed over the headrest (21) domes (22) releasably via a push-button means (23) and adjustable with the eyelets (20 ) the adjacent edge ( 13 ) of the blanket ( 1 ) can be connected and
c) the fastening devices ( 8 , 10 ) in the area of the rear seat backrests ( 4 ) and the footwell ( 5 ) consist of elastic bands ( 25 ) which can be fixed on hooks ( 24 ) and which can be pulled through the adjacent eyelets ( 19 ) of the protective cover ( 1 ) and are knotted, and the hooks ( 24 ) under tension on a stationary part in the rear seat area ( 2 ), namely on the rod ( 27 ) of a headrest ( 21 ), a guide fitting ( 28 ) of a seat belt ( 29 ), an adjustment knob ( 30 ) the front seat back ( 7 ) or the like can be detachably hooked.
