Abstract
Description
According to Mr. Burger's invention report of October 20, 1992 on "Syntactic Ortschaum ", which consists of pre-expanded polystyrene particles or shredded polystyrene foam parts or other foam parts and as an elastically connecting matrix from one hydrophilic toluene diisocyanate prepolymer, it is advantageous to to use the following manufacturing method according to the invention:
In a preferably with a dry air dryer at low humidity in the dew point area from about -70 ° C kept silo polystyrene foam particles or other foam particles dried as new goods and / or shredded old parts at approx. 70 ° C. After adding approx. 100 pbw of hydrophilic PU matrix resin per 100 pbw of foam particles becomes the mass mixed intensively and is ready for consumption with a storage time of several days. If required, a required amount is withdrawn via an outlet pipe and by means of Suction or compressed air is transported to the place of consumption and there by the acting force slightly compressed in the air. On the way to the place of consumption, the matrix wetted Foam parts of water sprayed in approximately the same amount of the matrix. A water excess that is not used up by the matrix resin later evaporates from the article, or the water is dosed so precisely that it is completely used up by the matrix resin.
The best results in terms of particle bonding, mold filling and possibly elasticity are achieved when the matrix resin foams up slightly. Practical tests have shown that Foaming and crosslinking have progressed within about 0.5 hours to the extent that a further manipulation can take place, be it further processing or removal from dimensional shapes, e.g. B. from vacuum-drawn skins.
