Description

Process for the storage of dissolved gases, in particular acetylene, by means of porous wet. The invention relates to a method for storing dissolved or compressed gases or flammable liquids, especially acetylene, by means of porous masses and consists in that exclusively fibrous peat as such mass is used.

Numerous porous masses have been proposed for storage flammable gases or liquids, but all of them have certain disadvantages have the proposal of the invention. These older proposals are all in common that granular additions to any fiber material - but never that fibrous peat was used. But these granular admixtures bring the There is a risk of generating heat through friction between the grains and the dissolved gases to ignite. Apart from this, however, the fiber itself is also found in the older proposals, not with that according to the invention to compare, be it in terms of price, be it in terms of its technical nature Behavior. Swellable fabrics as well as animal hair, kapok, are more expensive than that fabric selected by the invention, in addition, these are not so elastic and not so porous, the latter for the reason that fibrous peat is vegetable Represents a structure that is subject to a long process of decomposition after its formation was that widened the existing pores and new pores between and created in the fibers of naturally grown material. Hair, silk thread, kapok etc. but have an outer skin, which allows the penetration of the liquid or the Very difficult or even prevent gases from entering the inner pores of the fabric. Above all however, fibrous peat can be cut easily and simply and has readily in this natural form all the necessary properties, while from the other, more expensive fibers only become felt-like in a further treatment stage Body must be created.

Accordingly, the invention has compared to these older proposals Advantages that it gives a light, porous and elastic filling compound that is evenly absorbent and can be easily filled in without further treatment can. The fibrous peat is used in the necessary amount for filling of The container is inserted, piled or pressed into it, and it is itself with relatively little compression, there is no risk of sagging.

In the so filled with fibrous peat container z. B. acetone let in, in which the acetylene can then be dissolved.
