Die Erfindung behandelt die Construction eines Ofens, welcher zur Verbrennung von in festen Ballen verpacktem Papier, inficirten Lumpen und anderem Material geeignet ist. Die Vernichtung speciell von Staatspapieren hat eine solche Ofenconstruction nothwendig gemacht. Die Schwierigkeit, zu Ballen vereinigte Papiermassen sicher und schnell zu verbrennen, liegt in der Luftzuführung zu den einzelnen Papierbogen, da diese sonst nur am Rand verkohlen. Nach der vorliegenden Erfindung werden in dem Ofen deshalb Gasflammen zur Verbrennung angewendet, denen durch ein Gebläse reichliche Luftmengen zugeführt werden. Die so entstehenden Stichflammen sind schräg gegen die übrigens nach Mafsgabe des Abbrennens selbstthätig aufrückenden Papierstöfse gerichtet, so dafs nicht nur eine Vertheilung' der Flamme unter die einzelnen Blätter, sondern durch die Kraft der Flamme auch eine Beseitigung der Aschentheile herbeigeführt wird.The invention deals with the construction of a furnace which is used to burn in solid bales of wrapped paper, infected rags and other material is suitable. Die Entzündung der in den Räumen c untergebrachten Papierstöfse e wird durch die vorn durch die Kopfenden von c geführten Düsen / bewirkt, welche schräg gegen die Stöfse e gerichtet sind. Die Düsen sind mit der Gas- und Windleitung des Gebläses g verbunden; von der Windleitung werden Zweigleitungen nach der Decke und event, den Seitenwänden des Ofens geführt, deren Düsen h ebenfalls schräg gerichtet sind, um die Aschentheile energisch nach dem mittleren Kanal d zu schaffen und die Zugwirkung des Ofens zu erhöhen. Zu demselben Zwecke kann auch noch über dem Kanal d ein Wasserrohr mit in Richtung des Zuges wirkenden Brausen i vorgesehen werden, das die in dem Kanal d oder in einem in denselben verschiebbar eingehängten, herausziehbaren Korb k angesammelten Aschentheile durch Netzung schwer macht, so dafs sie nicht durch den Schornstein in die Umgebung gelangen können. Der Drahtkorb wird zweckmäfsig konisch und weitmaschig hergestellt, um die Verbrennungsgase auch bei gefülltem Korb in Richtung der eingezeichneten Pfeile abziehen zu lassen.
