Description

Device for reducing the instantaneous short-circuit current from Three-phase generators. A reduction in the instantaneous short-circuit current in three-phase generators can be achieved, as already suggested, that at the moment of the short circuit the ohmic resistance of the excitation circuit increases and thereby the increase in the in the excitation circuit induced current is delayed. As is well known, the field is the Main poles after the steady-state short-circuit current has established itself through the Armature reaction of this short-circuit current almost extinguished, although `n of the excitation winding the same current flows as with operational excitation. The increase in the short-circuit current at the first moment of the short circuit is due to the fact that the field change causes the Main poles in the excitation winding creates an additional current that is normal The excitation current is temporarily increased so that the field weakening is delayed. The aim of the invention is to increase the excitation current even during the field change of the main poles to hold at its normal amount so that this can be done without delaying the change the anchor field can follow. In the figure is an embodiment of the inventive concept shown. j The poles of the generator g are excited by the machine e, in whose armature circuit the primary side of the transformer t is switched on. the The secondary side of this transformer is connected to the field winding f of the exciter e in series. Support the fields created by the two windings of the transformer in their effect and form a resulting field, which in normal operation is constant. If there is a change in this resulting field, resulting from a Change in the primary current, an E.M.K. is then induced in the secondary winding, which influences the current of the field winding f in such a way that the machine e supplies a current, which seeks to compensate for the change in current on the primary side.

The essence of the invention is that the flow changes of a transformer can be used to produce opposite changes in the flux the exciter. In this way it is possible to reduce the excitation current of the machine g to keep practically constant even at the moment of the short circuit.
