Abstract
he pneumatically operated piston press has a pneumatic cylinder (15) with a servo-valve (42,45) for the two opposing working spaces (40,43) on either side of the sliding piston (16) to which the press runs (17) is attached. The latter cooperates with a displacement monitor (18) supplying an output signal to a regulator (37). This compares it with given reference values (50..53) to provide control signals for the electropneumatic servovalves (42,45) for the penumatic cylinder (15) to obtain a given displacement characteristic. Pref. the latter characteristic exhibits differeing gradients for discrete ranges to allow the ram to be moved from its rest position to its end postion with a velocity which decreases in stages.
