Abstract

A viscous substance contained in a cylindrical cartridge (11) is forced out through a nozzle (13) by applying a force to a piston (14) fitted inside the opposite end of the cartridge. The piston is made from a plastics of medium hardness and has circumferential sealing lips around its skirt (15) which press against the cartridge wall. The piston is provided with a reinforcing ring (25) which fits inside the skirt. The reinforcing ring has a greater rigidity than that of the piston and prevents any deformation of the piston skirt.
