In der Regel wird bei der Brikettbereitung die Kohle auf etwa 3 bis 4 mm Korngröße zerkleinert.- Man hat, um die Härte und Widerstandsfähigkeit der Brikette zu erhöhen, vorgeschlagen, die Brikettierung feinerer Kohle ohne Bindemittel in Stufen, also absatzweise, mit steigendem Druck vorzunehmen und zwischen den einzelnen Preßstufen die erhaltenen Zwischenerzeugnisse von neuem zu zerkleinern. Hierbei sind Drucke bis zu 1666 kg auf den Quadratzentimeter angegeben worden.Process for the production of briquettes. Es gelingt; die bisher als ohne Bindemittel nicht brikettierbar angesehene Steinkohle nach dem Verfahren schon bei Drucken von etwa 3oo kg auf den Quadratzentimeter in brauchbare Brikette umzuwandeln. Infolge der niedrigen Drucke, die nach dem Verfahren angewendet werden können, lassen sich die Pressen viel leichter bauen, als dies bisher bei den üblichen Drucken, die ein Mehrfaches davon betrugen, zulässig war. Die Pressen werden weit weniger angestrengt und erfordern geringere Unterhaltungskosten. Der Betrieb wird durch das heute notwendige häufige Auswechseln der Preßstempel und das Ausgießen der Lager nicht gestört und verteuert.-Las Arbeiten erfolgt viel schneller als bei dem bekannten Verfahren mit stufenweise steigendem Lruck, weil nur ein einziger Durchgang durch die Presse erforderlich ist.The method consists in that the coals to be briquetted are comminuted to a grain size of about z mm or less and that this mass is then preferably pressed with high-speed presses of the type of the usual lignite presses.
