Abstract

A two-piece dust control mat (10) having an upper pile fabric portion (12) and a lower rubber-like base portion (14). The under surface of the upper portion and the upper surface of the lower portion are treated to increase the friction resistance therebetween and in the preferred form the treatment consists of providing interlocking cleat members (22;24).

Weiter ist der Energieverbrauch geringer, weil weniger Material gewaschen und getrocknet werden muß. Während des Entfernens, Ersetzens und Waschens des Florgewebes bleibt das gummiartige Unterlegmaterial an seiner Stelle am Ort des Kunden, wobei seine unteren Stollen in die Oberfläche, auf die es gelegt worden ist, eingreifen.The doormat 10 described here avoids several of these disadvantages. Claims

1. A method of providing clean floor mats (10) comprising the steps of laying down an underlay mat (14) formed of rubber-like material having studs (24) on the upper surface, providing a washable pile fabric (12) having studs (22) on the underside thereof, engaging the pile fabric (12) with the underlay mat (14) by causing the studs (22, 24) of the pile fabric (12) and the underlay mat (14) to interlock, and removing the pile fabric (12) from the underlay mat (14) when it becomes dirty and replacing it with another pile fabric (12) having studs (22) on the lower surface which engage the studs (24) on the upper surface of the underlay mat (14).

2. Doormat (10) comprising an underlay mat (14) made of rubber-like material and a washable pile fabric (12) located thereon and engaging with the underlay mat (14), characterized in that the upper surface of the underlay mat (14) and the lower surface of the pile fabric (12) are each provided with studs (22, 24) which ensure a non-sliding engagement between the pile fabric (12) and the underlay mat (14).

3. Doormat (10) according to claim 2, in which the pile fabric (12) is attached centrally to the underlay mat (14) and is of such a size that it does not extend outward to the edges of the underlay mat (14).

4. Doormat (10) according to claims 2 or 3, wherein the pile fabric (12) comprises a backing layer with threads (16) tufted therein and extending upwardly from the lower surface thereof.

5. Doormat (10) according to one of claims 2 to 4, in which the studded surface of the pile fabric (12) is a thin layer of molded rubber-like material.

6. A doormat (10) according to claim 5, wherein studs (28) are formed on the lower surface of the underlay mat (14) to help prevent the doormat (10) from sliding so that it is non-slip.
