Abstract

The present invention relates to packages closed by adhesive strips and to a process for closing same, in which closing takes place by ultrasonic vibrations by means of sonotrodes. Within the working sequence of packaging machines, the sonotrodes are guided over adhesive strips and package seams to be closed. If necessary, a sword-like metal piece is pushed as a so-called anvil under the seam, so that the reflection of the ultrasonic waves issuing from the sonotrodes is guaranteed, with the result that a perfect welding of the adhesive strip together with the package takes place.

In neuerer Zeit werden Packstücke, und zwar insbesondere Papp­ kartons, Faltschachteln und ähnliche Behälter, vielfach durch Klebestreifen verschlossen. Es werden dabei die zu verschließen­ den Fugen dazu vorwiegend mit Papierstreifen verklebt, die mit einem trocknenden Leim oder mit einem Dauerkleber versehen sind. Die Papierstreifen können dabei mit längsverlaufenden oder längs- und querverlaufenden Verstärkungen versehen sein, die vorteil­ haft in der Klebstoffschicht eingebettet sind. Die Klebestreifen können aber auch aus einem Kunststoffstreifen oder Kunststof­ folien bestehen. Deshalb ist man dazu übergegangen, die Klebebänder mit einer trockenen Klebeschicht zu versehen, die während des Aufbringens des Klebe­ streifens auf das Packstück unter anderen mit einem Wärmekeil erhitzt werden. Durch die Erwärmung wird eine Verbindung zwischen dem Klebestreifen und dem Packstück, durch das Verschmelzen der trockenen Klebeschicht und deren Wiedererstarrung, erreicht. Je nach Aus­ legung der Maschine mit einer oder mehreren Sonotroden ergeben sich durch die einzelnen Relativbewegungen nahtähnliche Verschweißungen beidseitig der Fuge. Nach Fertigstellung der Fugenverklebung und Herausbewegung des Ambosses 3 unterhalb der fertigverklebten Fuge, wird das Klebeband 2 und die Sonotrode 4 über die Kippkante 5 des Packstückes 1 in Pfeilrichtung 6 bewegt und damit die anschließen­ de Packstückfuge auf die beschriebene Weise vorgenommen.
