Bei den Vordruckwalzen für Papiermaschinen (den sogen. Egoutteurs) verursacht das Aufbringen der Drahtüberzüge, wenn es von den Papierfabriken selbst besorgt wird, noch mancherlei Schwierigkeiten. Um dieses Aufbringen zu erleichtern, wird das zur Aufnahme der Ueberzüge dienende Rohr nach vorliegender Erfindung der Länge nach geschlitzt, und im Innern des Rohres werden durch Rechtsund Linksgewinde stellbare Stützen in gewissen Abständen von einander angeordnet, um der Walze die nöthige Stabilität zu ertheilen.In the case of the pre-pressure rollers for paper machines (the so-called dandy rolls), this causes the wire covers, if the paper mills do it themselves, still all kinds of difficulties. Die Ueberzüge f aus feinem Messingdrahtgewebe werden genau dem Umfange des Rohres α entsprechend zugeschnitten. Um einen der Ueberzüge aufzubringen, werden zunächst die mittelst Schrauben befestigten Stirnscheiben b aus dem Rohr herausgenommen; alsdann drückt man das Rohr α ein wenig zusammen, so dafs man den Ueberzug darüber schieben kann. Man kann also auf diese Weise nicht nur jeden Ueberzug bequem aufbringen, sondern man erreicht zugleich noch den Vortheil, dafs jeder Ueberzug genau sitzt, da das Rohr vermöge seiner Federkraft sich auszudehnen strebt und dadurch den Ueberzug anspannt.As can be seen from Fig. 1 and 2 of the accompanying drawings, the perforated tube α is slotted lengthways, namely the longitudinal slot a ^{1 is} only made when the tube has been provided in the known manner with the wire wrapping d and tinned with the same so that both are related.
