Description
Sailboat with sliding 1 viast. The present invention relates a device to adjust the mast of sailboats laterally, whereby the use of greater wind strengths without reefing the sail and without a greater risk of capsizing is made possible. The application of the present invention is particularly effective in wide boats with two hulls.
In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is such Two-boat cutter, for example, shown.
Abb. z zeigt eine Seitenansicht, Abb. 2 eine Draufsicht, Abb. 3 einen Schnitt nach Linie A-B der Abb. 2 und Abb. 4 Einzelheiten.Fig. Z shows a side view, Fig. 2 shows a plan view, Fig. 3 shows a Section along line A-B of Fig. 2 and Fig. 4 details.
The mast 20 is not, as is usually the case, firmly attached in the boat, but rather mounted in a special mast shoe that can be moved laterally in a suitable guide. The mast shoe consists of an arched lower part 16, the two side parts 17 and 18 and the reinforcement z9. The mast 20 is firmly connected to the mast shoe by the bolt 2z. Its tip is fixed by ropes that lead to points?,?, 23, 24 and 25 , and stops when the mast shoe is moved. The mast shoe must therefore move on an arc around the fixed mast tip as the center point with the mast length. This results in the arcuate shape of the mast shoe and the guide track of the same, which is formed by the deck 3 and the tie g, 6 connecting the two boat halves. The mast shoe is displaced by ropes 27, which are guided over pulleys to the drum 28 in the rear of the boat and are attached to the same so that one rope unwinds when the other is wound up. The drum 28 is provided with a crank or with a handwheel 29, which can be locked by any locking device, for example by the hinged bracket 3o shown in FIGS.
