Verfahren zum Entschwefeln von Gasen. In weiterer Bearbeitung des dem Verfahren des Hauptpatents zugrunde liegenden Erfindungsgedankens wurde gefunden, daß sich die Wirkung der feinporösen Kohle in bezug auf das Festhalten der leichtflüchtigen schwefelhaltigen Bestandteile von normal vorgereinigten Gasen ganz wesentlich verstärken läßt, wenn man die Kohle möglichst frei von Wasser hält. Zu diesem Zweck ist es vorteilhaft, das Gas vor seinem Eintritt in die Kohle zu trocknen. Aus dem gleichen Grunde erripfiehlt es sich, bei der Regenerierung der Kohle nach ihrer Sättigung den hindurchzuleitenden Gasstrom, z. B. Wasserstoff oder ein anderes gegen die Kohle indifferentes schwefelfreies Gas, gleichfalls zu trocknen, so daß später das zu reinigende Gas bereits wasserfreie Kohle vorfindet. Das Trocknen der Gase kann in der üblichen Weise, entweder durch Kälte oder durch indifferente wasserbindende Mittel, erfolgen.Process for the desulfurization of gases.
