Description

Augenbadevorrichtung. Um kranke oder schwache Augen mit medizinischen Flüssigkeiten zu behandeln, werden - abgesehen von der Verwendung von Augentropfen, die in die Augen zu träufeln sind - die Augen entweder mit in die entsprechende Flüssigkeit getauchten Lappen, Watte o. dgl. gewaschen oder in dieser Flüssigkeit gebadet. Ein Augenbad hat wegen der damit verbundenen größeren Reinlichkeit und intensiveren, anhaltenden Wirkung stets den Vorzug-, es sind eigene Augenbadeschalen aus Glas bekannt, die, der Form des Auges genau an- gep aßt, die Behandlung desselben sehr erleichtern und zweckmäßig gestalten. Meistens kauft jedoch das augenleidende Publikum nur das »Augenwasser«, das »Bad« jedoch läßt es weg, weil ihm das Arbeiten i#it zwei Gefäßen, dem Vorratsbehälter lind dem Badegefäß, zu umständlich ist.Eye bathing device. Der Gegenstand besteht hier aus einer Glasflaschea von ovalem Ouerschnitt. Der Flaschenhals b befindet sicioben seitlich am Rande, um dem gleichfalls obenbefindlichen Badegefäß c, das an die Flasche a angegossen ist, genügend Platz zu lassen. Der muldenförrnige Boden d des Badegefäßes c ist gleichzeitig ein Teil der Flaschenwandung. In dem konischen Flaschenhals b ist eine im oberen Teil konisch verlaufende Tropfröhre f aus Glas eingeschliffen. Der obere umgebogene Rand g wird von einer Gummimembran k überspannt, die als Flaschenverschluß dient, und mittels welcher eine Saug-,virkung zum Heben der Flüssigkeit in bekannter Weise erzielt wird.The object here consists of a glass bottle with an oval cross-section. Nach Aufhebung des Druckes durch Wegnahnie des Fingers füllt sich die Tropfröhre f mit der medizinischen Flüssigkeit aus der Flasche a. Danach gibt man durch neuerlichen Druck auf die Membran h einen oder mehrere Tropfen in die Badeschalec und'verschließt die Flaschea wieder mit der Tropfröhref, ähnlich wie mit einem Glasstöpsel. Die Badeschale c wird im übrigen mit lauwarmem Wasser aufgefüllt, und damit ist das Bad fertig. Es wird in bekannter Weise benutzt dadurch, daß man das Auge in das Bad senkt, wobei es vom Rande e der Badeschale c ganz umschlossen sein muß. Durch Heben und Senken des Kopfes und gleichzeitiges Heben und Senken des angepreßten Apparates, ferner durch Öffnen und Schließen der Augenlider und Bewegen des Augapfels wird eine gründliche Bespülung der gesamten Augenpartien erreicht.The handling of the device is very easy.
