Nach dem Hauptpatent wird zur Gerbung, Imprägnierung usw. von Stoffen so vorgegangen, daß die zu -behandelnden Stoffe mit Hilfe der Elektroosmose vorgegerbt und hierauf im Gerbbottich oder Walkfaß in üblicher Weise ohne Anwendung von Strom fertig gegerbt wenden.Process for tanning, impregnating, etc. fabrics. Es hat sich nämlich gezeigt, daß die elektroosmotische Behandlung mit nur eine Spur von Gerbstoff enthaltenden Lösungen genügt, um die Blößen so zu beeinflussen, daß sie im Walkfaß oder Gerbbottich in kurzer Zeit mechanisch fertig gegerbt werden können. Es wird so für die mechanische Gerbung eine, Ersparnis an Gerbstoff erzielt, und auch für die elektrische Vorbehandlung ergibt sich eine Verminderung der erforderlichen Leistung und Einwirkungsdauer. Auch beim Imprägnieren läßt sich die Erfindung in vorteilhafter Weise verwenden. Ausführungsbeispiel.
