Wird dagegen ein stärkeres Grundfeuer benötigt, so wird die obere Platte herausgeschoben, so daß unter der Platte ein größerer Raum zur Entwickelung eines Grundfeuers entsteht. Das Grundfeuer pflanzt sich dann gegebenenfalls bis zur oberen Platte fort. Außerdem kann selbstverständlich, wie üblich, das Grundfeuer durch Verstellung der unteren Platte bzw. des unteren Unterzündungsrostes geregelt werden.
