Abstract

1. Apparatus for the metered filling of bags (63) with highly viscous material, particularly filamentous material, such as paste-like permanently elastic sealing compound, comprising a metering device (3) and a material filling device (21) which is connected to this metering device and has a filling tube (23) projecting into a plastic film bag (45) to be filled, the filling device (21) having a film bag forming device surrounding the filling tube (23), and comprising a device (46) for transporting the formed film bag (45) and a device for closing the filled bags (63), characterised in that there are provided a sensor (20) which detects the metered quantity of material and a sensor (52) which detects the conveying distance of the film bag (45), that the film bag (45) is conveyed according to the quantity of material metered, the conveyance of the film bag (45) being controlled by way of the sensors (20, 52) in such a manner that it corresponds to the quantity of material metered, that immediately at the end of the filling tube (23) there is provided a device (38) for severing the length of material emerging from the filling tube (23), and that the closing device arranged below the filling device (21) is formed by a cross welding unit (59) with a severing device.
