Description
Process for completely uniform - dyeing and impregnation of wood and similar materials. According to the previously known methods of Wood impregnation with coloring, preserving, hardening or the flammability degrading substances are used, from the process of mere pickling or the boiling of the woods in the liquids containing the active substances apart from that, closed apparatus, the execution of which allows the cell spaces the sleepers or pit timbers that may have to be evacuated beforehand with ordinary or under a slight overpressure at a slightly elevated temperature or by means of steam from ioo ° to fill with the impregnation or coloring liquids. Usually with steam or gases are pressed, the operating pressure applicable in the pressure vessel may be used also because of the dimensioning of the boiler, a certain low number of atmospheres is not available Exceed, so that only by applying higher - temperatures or longer time Loads of operating overpressures achieve complete saturation right down to the innermost part of the wood will. The methods using higher pressures require a very complicated one Apparatus which, as a result of the necessary, often major repairs, is the receipt of the Do not allow apparatus to be used in large-scale operations. Also has been so far despite longer Impregnation time up to one hour no even Durohimpregnation of the core and sapwood. Most of these procedures therefore take a long time to so that what is particularly important for the mass impregnation, the daily output time a single device does not exceed a certain limit, quite apart from that of the mostly significant amount of heating material used, its consumption by working is given with vapor pressures and naturally with the duration as well as the Wages etc. also grows.
Man bringt z. According to the present invention, this complete saturation is now achieved without heat consumption, without steam pressure and in just a few minutes if you are under high hydrostatic pressure works. One brings z. B. a bundle of telegraph poles or sleepers constructed in a way similar to the boot room of a Brahma press hydraulic apparatus, evacuated if necessary, sucks the impregnation liquid and presses, depending on the type of wood, with prints from 100 to 500 atmospheres, if necessary, also after iooo and more atmospheres of impregnating liquid. With hardwoods or in the same apparatus with water, alkali, acid or organic solvents Cold pretreated softwoods now show that the soaking of the woods is complete in minutes. It also shows that the wood substance because of the avoidance of any heat input is chemically in no way altered while Experience has shown that with the previous hot impregnation process, local formation of the durability of the wood-reducing cellulose derivatives takes place. Suitable Devices make it possible to immediately after lifting out the first batch second Introduce cargo and so in an extraordinarily accelerated process without the use of heat to achieve a multiple of the previously possible work performance.
