A fountain solution additive for offset printing containing wetting agents, pH-controlling substances, moisturizers, optionally film-forming agents, optionally softeners, optionally preservatives and optionally solvents, characterized in that it contains, as wetting agent(s), one or more of the substances a) 3,5-dimethyl-1-hexyn-3-ol ; b) 3,6-dimethyl-4-octyne-3,6-diol ; c) 2,4,7,9-tetramethyl-5-decyne-4,7-diol ; d) ethoxylation products of a), b) and/or c) or combinations of the substances a), b), c) and/or d) with further conventional wetting agents.
