In der Zeichnung ist A eine Metallplatte, die an dem einen Ende ein Loch B hat, um über den Knopf der Violine gelegt und dadurch festgehalten werden zu können. Die Platte ist über die obere Kante; der Violine gebogen und legt sich fest gegen dieselbe an. Dicht hinter dieser Kante ist die Platte A der Länge nach in eine der Anzahl der Saiten des Instrumentes entsprechende Anzahl dünner elastischer Streifen D getheilt, die gleich weit von einander entfernt und gleich dick sind. Die Zwischenräume zwischen den Streifen entsprechen den Abständen der Saiten auf dem Stege. Die Streifen D sind an dem vorderen Ende verbreitert und je mit einem in einen Schlitz auslaufenden Loch C versehen, in welches die Saite zwecks Befestigung an dem Halter eingeführt wird. Die Enden der Streifen D reichen bis auf die übliche Entfernung an den Steg des Instrumentes.In the drawing, A is a metal plate that has a hole B at one end so that it can be placed over the button of the violin and thereby held in place.
