Bei dem Verfahren Ides Hauptpatentes erfährt das zu waschende Filtermaterial außer der Aufwärtsbewegung auch eine durch die Expansion der aufsteigenden Druckluft hervorgerufene seitliche Bewegung. Vorliegende Erfindung bezweckt, diese seitliche Bewegung des Filtermaterials durch eine besondere Art Abführung des Waschwassers erheblich zu verstärken und damit den Waschvorgang schneller und wirksamer zu machten. Zu diesem Zwecke wird das Waschwasser durch einen oder mehrere oberhalb des Filtermaterials vorgesehene, mit seinem Unterschenkel durch das Filtermaterial geführte Glockenheber in dem Wechsel in der Zuführung des Waschwassers entsprechend wechselnder Menge abgesaugt, wobei der Einlauf in die Heberglocke e durch eine Schutzplatte o.-dgl. gegen Mitreißen von Filtermaterial gesichert ist. Es ist zwar schon bekannt, Heber zur Absaugung des Schlammwassers zu benutzen, jedoch haben die bekannten Verfahren den Nachteil, daß bei ihnen die Heberleistung nicht entsprechend den wechselnden Waschmittelmengen auch wechselt, so daß zeitweise größere anfallende Schlammengen nicht sofort abgeführt werden und so Gelegenheit zur Ablagerung auf dem Filtermaterial haben. Diesem überstand hilft das Verfahren nach der Erfindung ab und ermöglicht, daß selbst bei stark verschlammenden Wässern eine weitgehende Entfernung und Abführung des Schlammes erzielt wird.
