Description
Process for the preparation of molten calcium chloride. The subject of the present invention provides a method for preparing molten material Calcium chloride.
Up to now one has by far the greatest extent of calcium chloride by evaporation of the final liquors. The cost of the evaporation process is in spite of the enormous amounts of waste eyes make the solid calcium chloride relatively expensive. - -That present process is based on the treatment of calcium carbonate with gaseous Hydrochloric acid utilizing the heat of reaction produced in this process, whereby the Production of solid calcium chloride is significantly cheaper. The procedure will Exercised in such a way that one more or less concentrated hydrochloric acid in gaseous Condition through a tower, which is filled with lumpy limestone, paint and at the same time sprinkled the tower from above.
The reaction takes place according to the formula: Ca C03 + 2HC1 = CaC12 + C02 + H20 + 78. So it arises from z. B. Muschelkalk and the more or less dilute hydrochloric acid Calcium chloride and carbonic acid. The hot calcium chloride solution collects on the foot of the tower and solidifies as a result of their concentration as it cools down solid mass. Contrary to expectations, the reaction takes place even with dilute hydrochloric acid Exhaust and any natural limestone easily and completely. the The resulting carbon dioxide is of course used in other ways. The procedure can be Use advantageously for the economical elimination of hydrochloric acid-containing exhaust gases.
