Description
Process for the production of stamps for punching thin-walled Material. The invention relates to a method for producing stamps for Punching thin-walled material such as paper, cardboard, celluloid, wood veneer, sheet metal etc., which brings a number of new and practical advantages. So made possible the process of making stamps of any size on quick, easy and very cheap Way to manufacture, taking all forms of drawing, especially the artistic Subtleties of the same, are precisely expressed. The simplicity of the process It is evident from this that such stamps are made by everyone, including laypeople can be made of already hardened material, so that it is unusable the already finished stamp due to the very difficult, especially with large pieces Hardship procedure is excluded. This also ensures that any Number of different parts can be punched with one punch. The punched out Parts can be used for a variety of purposes, such as: B. as deposits for Furniture, cassettes, mirror frames, etc., and it can be made or silhouettes Images can be assembled in any color.
The new process makes use of the one known for etching metal Protective layer and consists in that the stamp drawing in outlines, e.g. B. with acid-proof varnish, see if applied to the surface of the stamp and the latter then it is etched until the outlines have the appropriate height and height for punching Have sharpness.
The drawing shows a stamp produced by the method, namely in Fig. = The view of the surface of the same and in Fig. 2 the cross-section A-B from Fig. I, the latter greatly enlarged for the sake of clarity.
On the surface of the stamp a, which z. B. from a thin, already hardened sheet steel (as such, e.g. the waste of saw blades iri can be considered), the outlines are first drawn with an acid-resistant varnish b of the drawing applied as a fine and evenly strong line. These forms a closed figure, such as B. from Fig. I can be seen, a table. That Line b can be applied by hand, i.e. by painting on or by mechanical means - way, e.g. B. by transfer using a template, etc., take place.
The stamp plate a thus provided with the drawing then becomes like this etched deeply for a long time (e.g. by soaking in acid or by galvanic means) until line b above has a corresponding sharpness (perhaps of the strength a postcard). The etching makes the line b conical, see the cross section 2, and this sharpness is completely sufficient for punching out paper and the like; Razor sharpness is not necessary. while the deep etching after the Thickness of the material to be punched depends. Such stamps could be used so far only in a cumbersome and costly and time consuming way with the help of engraving machines or by hand engraving in non-hardened material.
When punching, the material to be punched is on the punch a and to achieve a precise sharpness a soft metal plate was placed and the whole thing then pressed in the usual way. The punched out parts are pointed with a Instrument lifted or pushed through from behind: With a stamp you can Punch any number of parts at the same time.
